The waterfall is locally known as Embepare, which means tortoise, as the rock over which the water flows is shaped like a tortoise. Though direct access to the Chelavara waterfall has been stopped for tourists now owing to accidents around here, one can enjoy this pretty sight from a distance.
Honey Valley Nilakandi Falls
Another striking waterfall in Coorg is the Nilakandi Falls located near Kabbinkadu village in the Coorg district of Karnataka.
